Exercise your way back to fitness and good health through Te Aro’s rehabilitation clinic programmes.

Both Hydrotherapy and Pilates are available at Te Aro as part of their rehabilitation programme. Trained instructors can assess your needs and design a personal programme to assist in your rehabilitation process.

Hydrotherapy is a gentle, yet effective method of exercise

Te Aro has a heated hydrotherapy pool in a private setting. Hydrotherapy is an ideal way to assist recovery from injury as the water provides resistance yet cushions joints for a “no impact” work out.

Warm water eases muscles into movement and you can exercise in a small class at a level that suits you. Both supervised and independent hydrotherapy programmes are available.

Pilates is a gentle form of exercise to improve fitness and restore function

Te Aro offers both reformer and mat Pilates memberships by Stott instructors.

Pilates has many benefits including strengthening core stability, better posture and improved balance and coordination.

Stott Pilates applies modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation to traditional Pilates exercises resulting in a safe and effective way to gently recover from injury or surgery.

Te Aro’s rehabilitation clinic works positively with many conditions

  •     Pre and post surgery - improve fitness while improving function.
  •     Repetitive strain injury - management through treatment and exercise.
  •     Back injury - management through treatment and exercise.
  •     Arthritis - the “move it or lose it” philosophy applies.
  •     Cancer patients - restore energy and function through exercise.
  •     Cardiovascular conditions – care and management through exercise and nutrition.
  •     Neurological conditions - maximizing strength and mobility.
  •     Diabetes - exercise and weight loss programmes.
  •     Soft tissue surgery - post treatment includes strengthening and improving function.
